We are Scott and Paula, a married couple who love to travel. We share a deep love for Colombia and try to go there as much as possible.
About Scott
I’m a musician and educator from Florida. I began my love affair with Colombia in 2010, when I moved there to teach English. I quickly fell in love with the land and its people. I’ve returned there many times and explored much of its beautiful landscapes, cities, and towns.
About Paula
Paula was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. At the age of 15, she traded the jagged Andes mountains for the swamps and beaches of sunny Florida. Though living outside of her birth country, she has retained a strong connection with it, visiting it whenever possible.
Our Story
We met in late 2015 and struck up a friendship based on shared interests, including traveling and Colombia. We soon began dating, and by late 2018, we were married. We were planning on buying a house in Florida and had begun saving for that goal.
But then the pandemic happened.
At some point during 2020, we both realized that we wanted something more out of life. We decided that we would make plans to move out of the country. Between Paula having US and Colombian citizenship, and me with my dual US-French citizenship, we had many options available to us. We decided that we would move to Europe in 2022 or 2023.
So I began to work on registering my French citizenship with the government of France. After doing so, I then applied for my first French passport.
But before all of that, not knowing how long the citizenship and passport processes would take, we made shorter-term plans to move to Colombia in early 2022. So that’s what we did. For three months.
After that, we came to Europe. We spent a few months in France, and we’re currently in Spain.
Why we created this blog
We both have a strong connection to Colombia, and we share a deep love for it and try to go there as much as possible.
We started this travel blog so that we could share our love for Colombia with you and help you find the best places to visit when you’re there.
Aside from travel discussion, we also like talking and writing about the Spanish language, particularly as it’s used in Colombia. We also might include occasional articles related to other aspects of Colombia.
